Capoeira Classes in Nantucket
Capoeira is the Brazilian martial art that mixes movement, music, and self-defense, and you can now train it year-round here on Nantucket. We run classes for kids and adults, including plenty of people who have never done a martial art before.
What a class is like:
You learn kicks, sweeps, escapes, and the low spinning movement Capoeira is known for, then you put it together in a game played inside a circle called the roda, with everyone clapping and singing while two people play in the middle. It is a workout that never feels like one. You leave stronger and moving better than any treadmill will get you.
Who it's for:
Kids take to Capoeira fast. It feels like play, and it builds the coordination and confidence that carry into every other sport. Adults get a full-body session and a skill that is fun to keep learning for years. Because the classes are open to all ages, a parent and a kid can train in the same roda, which almost nothing else lets you do.
Schedule and first class:
Capoeira runs Monday and Wednesday evenings at 8 PM at our academy on 4 Lovers Lane, Nantucket. You do not need any experience, and you do not need to buy anything to start. Wear clothes you can move in and show up. Your first class is free. Call (508) 680-4839 or stop by to grab a spot.
